I was born in Stepney in 1939 and lived my childhood in Canning Town, East
London. My working life took me into graphic design and advertising but painting and drawing were always important to me. However landscape painting was never of prime interest until I first experienced the natural beauty of Inishowen in 2005 whilst on holiday. The effect was so strong that I knew I would have to try as far as possible to capture on canvas the wonderful feeling this visit left me with.

Normally I feel much more comfortable with portraiture, but my experience of Inishowen has given me the desire and momentum to explore my ability in landscape
painting. After completing the first few paintings I was encouraged to continue trying to capture as wide and varied a selection of the landscape as possible. I hope in my choice of subject matter I have done justice to the unspoilt beauty of
Inishowen.
