This exhibition is inspired by places of escape. Helen was awarded a residency at the artists retreat in Ballinaskelligs in Co. Kerry and this is the first time the resulting paintings have been exhibited along with work inspired by a period of time in Culdaff in North Donegal. The landscape in similair in its quiet places of contemplation.Subjects are rendered with spontaneity. The colours are emotional and intuitive, subdued light enhancing the blue tones that echo from the Atlantic.
Helen Bullock McFarland was born in Fermanagh, grew up in Strabane and studied at Art College in Bristol.
